Linda Sharon Durst, 54, died July 22, 2004. She was born Sept. 28, 1950 in Mesa, to Lawrence and Bonnie Stone.
She eventually met and married Ted Durst and moved to Lincoln, Neb., where the young couple had their first and only child, Andrew Lawrence Durst, in 1972. After moving back to Arizona for several years, the family began a journey leading them to Georgia, Upstate New York, Oregon, Alabama, South Carolina and back to Oregon. It was during this time that Mrs. Durst earned a BS Degree with honors in Psychology, Family Studies, in 1999, from Western Baptist College in Salem. She became a case worker supervisor with the Healthy Starts program working with at-risk mothers.
She loved people -- especially children -- as well as walks with her husband, hiking, traveling, cooking, and laughing with family and friends. Hers was a truly genuine, gracious, giving life. She was devoted to God and was an inspiration to all that knew her.
She is survived by husband, Ted Durst; son, Andy Durst; parents, Lawrence and Bonnie Stone, all of Payson; and brother David Stone of Glendale.
She was preceded in death by sister, Becky Waterman.
A memorial service will be at 11 a.m., Tuesday, July 27 at 11 a.m., with a viewing at 10 a.m., at Messinger Payson Funeral Home.
