Marilyn B. Jensen, 81, of Payson, died at home July 22, 2004. She was born to Harry C. and Lillian Droste July 12, 1923 in Philadelphia, Pa.
She aspired to be a newspaper reporter. She married Carl Jensen, a U.S. Army officer in 1948 in Philadelphia. In 1957, the family settled in Albuquerque, N.M. In 1994, she and Carl settled in Payson. She was an avid reader, did extensive travel, and was interested in cultural and historical events and the theater. She appreciated her involvement with Gila Aging Memory Lane. She supported her local library and humane society and Native American interests. She had integrity, style, grace and a sense of humor. She loved her home and family and pets. She will be greatly missed by her daughters and her friends.
She is survived by her daughters, Susan (Eldon) Severn and Sally Pollock of Payson; granddaughter, Stephanie Huffman of Payson; great-grandsons, Zachary Huffman of Lawton, Okla. and Jensen Chase Huffman of Payson; and Cocoa, the cat.
A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 14, 2004 at Messinger Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Drive, Payson.
Flowers should be sent to the Messinger Funeral Home no earlier than Friday, Aug. 13.
There will be a reception immediately following the Memorial Service at Payson First Assembly of God Church, 1100 West Lake Drive, Payson.
