What's Up?

Q: I heard a rumor that Home Depot has scrapped its plans to open in Payson. Is that true? If it's not true, does anyone know when they'll be breaking ground?

A: Not true, says Bob Gould, Payson's community development director.

"We're ready any day now," Gould said. Home Depot just needs to pick up its building permits, which includes electrical and plumbing, he said.

While the town still has no idea when the store will be completed, the targeted location is on the west side of Beeline Highway across the street from Houston Mesa road.

The home repair superstore is expected to bring more than 100 jobs, at "decent" salaries, Gould said.

Q: Is the local movie theater going to be playing "Fahrenheit 9/11?" If not, why?

A: Craig Triphahn, manager of the Sawmill Theatres, said "Fahrenheit 9/11" will be coming to the Payson multiplex, but he does not know the dates yet.
