Cecil Garner Keiser, 80, died May 18, 2004, at Greeley County Hospital in Tribune, Kan. He was born June 12, 1923 in Oxford, Neb. to Charles Francis and Ruth Eula Garner Keiser.
Mr. Keiser grew up in Boulder, Colo., graduating from high school there. He was a former office manager for Grinnel Corp., Denver, until his retirement in 1972. He moved to Payson in 1978, and to Tribune in 2003. He was a member of Elks Lodge No. 2154, and was founder and captain of the Vista Yacht Club, both at Payson. He was a World War II veteran, serving in Europe as an Administrative NCO, earning the Army Commendation Medal for his work in the Military Justice Section, Officer's School, Heidelberg, Germany.
In 1948, he married Oletha T. Glover. He married Laura Lou McDermott Kysar Wilcox on Nov. 17, 1970.
Survivors include: son, Marc R. (Marlene Blair) Keiser of Olathe, Kan.; daughters, Ronda L. (Dwight D.) Gooch of Tribune, and Joni K. Kysar of Hays, Kan.; six grandsons, Mathew Keiser of Olathe, Kan., J.R., Jeremy, Josh and Jerad Gooch, and Jess Rowe of Tribune, Kan.; three granddaughters: Laura and Lisa Myers and Christi Rowe of Tribune, Kan..
Mr. Keiser donated his body to science. Following cremation, his ashes will be scattered in Payson.
A celebration of his life was held at Greeley County Long Term Care Unit, Tribune.
