It's hot and the winds are supposed to be up to 40 mph this weekend. We all need to be very careful when outside and pay attention to others. This is something we cannot say enough of. No smoking outside and no burning of any kind.

Christopher Creek is red flagged till we get some moisture and, we hope that will be soon.

Winners of the Ladies Nine Ball tournament are Kelly Hester, first place; Bo Matthews, second place; and Jackie Corn, third.

Saturday, June 19 is the 2nd Annual Community Garage Sale at the Landmark parking lot.

This is a good time to clean out your garages and set up and make some money. It is only $5 a table and portion of that money will go to the Christopher/Kohl's Fire Department. It will be from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Call Kevin or Liana at the Landmark for a space, (928) 478-4519.

Pleasant Sally War

There are some tickets available for the Christopher Creek melodrama, "Pleasant Sally War." It is free to the public but you must have a ticket to get in.

You might be surprised to see just who is in this play. Many from Christopher Creek and surrounding areas have been practicing every Saturday to perfect their parts. You might also be surprised to see just how funny some of them can be.

Thursday and Friday night's performances still have some tickets available. You can call me at (928) 478-4519 to reserve a seat. If you cannot get a ticket you are welcome to come to the dress rehearsal which will be Wednesday evening at 7 p.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ Latter-day Saints Chapel in Christopher Creek. You do not need a ticket for dress rehearsal.

The Landmark here in Christopher Creek is trying to do a fire-friendly July 4th celebration for children and adults.

July 2 and 3, they will have live music by Deek and then on July 4, from 8 p.m. to 9 p.m. they will have an American Tribute Light Show. The light system dances to the music, featuring Mark Marksbury at the helm. There will be water-based fog inside with the light show and it starts at 6 p.m.

Don't forget Bingo every Saturday at 7 p.m. at the fire hall. Get out and meet your neighbors.

Christopher Creek and surrounding areas are welcome to come out and have some fun. We have a lot of new people in the area and this is a great place to meet for an evening of fun.
