A familiar face returned to the Payson Pike swim team June 12 at Taylor Pool to serve as guest starter at an intersquad meet.
Dani Hatch, the longtime coach of the team and mother of current Pike coach Reed Hatch, was at the season opener in which the 56-team members competed against one another in age/sex groups.
According to Reed Hatch, the meet went off without a glitch.
The Pikes will take June 19 off but return to action June 26 (vs. Sedona), July 10 (vs. Camp Verde) and July 17 (vs. Cottonwood).
All of the meets will be held at Taylor Pool.
The Pike team practices each weekday from 6:30 a.m. to 8:55 a.m. under the eye of Hatch and assistant coaches Rachelle McGee and Tina Jackson.
