Kids College Teaches A Variety Of Skills

Kids College, in its third year, will be held July 12 to 16 and 19 to 23 at Gila Community College.

More than 25 different classes will be offered in the areas of visual arts, literary arts and music. Old favorites such as Clay Creations and Guitar I and IIill again be available fornterested kids. New courses this year include Bookmaking for Little Kids; Poetry Workshop; Rhythm and Movement; and Music Maestro, Please -- a music appreciation course that will feature interaction between the students and some of our area's finest professional musicians.

Kids College offers a wide variety of workshops for children ages 5 to 14. Students enjoy a hands-on experience as they learn about visual arts, literary arts, music and more. Classes are scheduled for July 12-16 and 19- 23 at Gila Community College.

Tuition for eachive-day course is $30.Schools have been working to determine which students might qualify for scholarship dollars which are, again this year, being generously supplied by area businesses, organizations and individuals. Kids College is open to Rim country students ages 5 to 14 (age 5 students must have completed kindergarten, and children must be able to show proof of age). Registration begins by mail May 1, and extends throughune 5.

From June 7 to 9, a Kids College representative will accept in-person registration for available classes only at Gila Community College. Most classes have a maximum enrollment of 15 students per session; maximum enrollment per session for Clay Creations is 12. No registrations will beccepted after June 9.
