If the summer heat is already getting you down, Payson Parks and Recreation has just the cure -- a cool concert with Common Ground Blues.

The group will perform from 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., Saturday, June 19 in the Green Valley Park amphitheater. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs, a picnic supper and settle back and enjoy the music.

Founded in 1998, Common Ground Blues prides itself in providing a beat to dance to, as well as a "true band experience", which pulls the audience in and makes them feel part of something special.

The band includes original members vocalist Glen Farkash; Brian Masherella on guitar; and Tim Kinsey on bass. Joining the founders are Jason Kay on drums and Peter Davis, pianist.

The Payson Parks and Recreation Department's Concerts Under the Stars series is free and will be presented every Saturday night through July 24, except July 3 -- the free concert that weekend is Sunday, July 4 for the community's Fourth of July celebration.
