Cora E. Garcia, 93, of Pine, died June 10, 2004 in Payson. She was born Sept. 14, 1910 in Alamosa, Colo.
Mrs. Garcia and her husband started their family during the Great Depression. In the early '40s, the Garcias packed up all of their belongings and children and moved to San Jose, Calif., where they lived for more than 25 years, then moved to Mesa in 1975.
As a child, she became a very accomplished piano player, playing in the state competition, and for the local church. She was a very loving and dedicated wife and mother and grandmother.
In 1996, she moved to Pine to live with family.
She is survived by her sons, Joseph Garcia and Juan Garcia of California and David Garcia of North Carolina; daughters, Corina James of Pine, Sarah Milstead of Washington and Barbara Bochel of California; sisters, Elenor and Susie, and brother, Ernesto Rivera, all of New Mexico; 16 grandchildren, 18 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Juan Nenopomaseno Rivera; mother, Sarah Suazo Rivera; husband, Juan Demoste Garcia; son, Brehon Michael Garcia; and great-granddaughter, Corina May Lamb.
