In Memory of a Dad
The years have been many
Since we have been apart.
You have never left me,
For I've kept you in my heart.
Though sickness may have taken you
From our presence and our home,
In my thoughts you'll live forever
And we'll never be alone.
I know I brought you sorrow
But, I was just a child.
Now that I'm all grown up,
I'm a person not so wild.
Dad, I hope we brought you
Joy all throughout your life.
Your family, full of children,
And your forever-loving wife.
You may not be here to enjoy them,
But these words I have to say,
Pops, thank you for the memories
And Happy Father's Day.
