Agnes Jehlicka, 88, died June 6, 2004 at Sweet Brook Care Center in Williamstown, Mass. She was born July 27, 1915 to Joseph and Mary Costick in Akron, Ohio, where her father worked as a tire builder at Goodyear.
Ms. Jehlicka married Charles L. Portz in 1935 and worked as a clerk for the Akron Police Department for several years before moving to Leesburg, Fla. in the late 1950s.
She later lived in California, where she worked at the Sharp Army Depot, and also in Payson where she and her husband built a cabin in the Tonto Rim before retiring to Inverness, Fla.
After her first husband died in 1979, she married Earl Jehlicka and moved to Ocala, Fla., where she resided until she moved to Massachusetts in 2001 to be near her only child, Charles R. Portz of South Williamstown.
She is also survived by her younger sister, Marie Costick of Sutter's Creek, Calif.; daughter-in-law, Bette Craig Portz; and stepdaughter, Janet Jehlicka Booth.
