In penning a story about the Inaugural Jack Morris Memorial Tournament in the June 22 issue of the Payson Roundup, I inadvertently left out names of several family members who were at the benefit. In addition to Jack's mother, Terry, widow, Dawn, and daughter, Courtney, his sister, Keri Wilbanks, two brothers, Cable Morris and Josh Barnhardt as well as youngest daughter, Chancy were in attendance.

Cowboy says thanks

Teenage rodeo cowboy Jason Amon wants to give a heart felt thank-you to all the sponsors who made it possible for him to win the state high school championships in both saddle bronc and bareback events. "I'm thankful I will be carrying the support of my sponsors to the National High School Rodeo (July 19 to 25 in Gillette, Wyo.)," Amon said.

His sponsors include Payson Concrete, Bison Construction, Amon Builders and Iron Horse Signs.

Amon promises to represent the sponsors and the community to the best of his abilities in the high school championships.

Haught Classic needs sponsors

The Gracie Haught Classic high school fast pitch softball tournament is seeking corporate sponsors. The inaugural tournament, which will draw class 3A and 4A teams from around the state to Payson, will be played March 18-19, 2005 on Lady Longhorn diamond.
