Eufemia "Effie" Lee Holbert, 67, of Arizona City, died Feb. 23, 2004. She was born Oct. 9, 1936 in Stockton, Calif.
She was a homemaker, and master organizer, member of the St. Helen Catholic Church of Eloy, Arizona City Chamber of Commerce, and the Moose Lodge of Arizona City.
She enjoyed traveling, crafts, spending time with her family, painting, photography, dancing and Mariachi.
Mrs. Holbert is survived by her mother, Eva Lee Moran, of Eloy; son, Michael Martinez, of Chandler; fiance, Joe M. Dominguez of Arizona City; daughters, Julianne Renee Smith of Pasadena, Texas and Rebecca Inez Gallagher of Lehi, Utah; brothers, Frank Calderon of Eloy, Rudy Moran of Toltec, Gus Moran and Ralph Moran, both of Eloy; sisters, Mary Guerrero of Eloy, Eva Cornejo of Queen Creek, Rose Leija of Eloy, Dolores Cragg of Redding, Calif., Adela Gonzales of Eloy and Vera Schuller of Arizona City; and 10 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her son, Bernard Frank Martinez, and parents, Lucrecia and George Calderon.
A visitation and Rosary were held Feb. 26. The funeral service was held Feb. 27 at St. Helen's Catholic Church. Burial followed at Eloy Memorial Park.
Memorials may be made to St. Helen's Catholic Church and Alanon Payson Chapter.
Arrangements were handled by J. Warren Funeral Services, Valley Chapel in Eloy.
