It is truly shocking that three very professional, veteran teachers at RCMS have been placed on administrative leave because they spoke up concerning next year's school schedule. I do not believe those three teachers would intentionally harass or be insubordinate to a school administrator.
As a retired teacher who has taught in Arizona for 29 years, and an active participant with the Payson School District, I have come to know these professional, outstanding teachers, and am deeply saddened by the action that has been taken against them.
Classroom teachers have a right and responsibility to help formulate a school schedule with all the school staff and have every right to speak in opposition to any part of a proposed plan. After all, they will live and work under the schedule for the entire year. Hopefully, justice will prevail.
