Fires, floods, tornadoes, babies slaughtered by abortionists, immoral lifestyles among the high school community, men wanting to marry men, and women wanting to marry women, politicians spewing their rhetoric vying for the oval office, leaves us wondering who we can believe. Suicides and depression among our young people, living in fear of what will happen next. Are we rapidly moving into a state of social, intellectual, economic and moral decline? We are in a life and death struggle for the hearts and minds of our youth of the next generation, if there will be one, and we can give Hollywood a lot of the blame.
Spiritual matters have not been our vocabulary until the new film about the Christ came out. Now, it is bringing strong men to their knees. It was not some raising a fist and shouting that there is no God; it was living as there is none.
Sports and the love of money have become a dominating factor in some people's lives -- the same thing that caused the downfall of the Roman Empire. Will we survive to the year 2005? Or, could we be a terminal generation -- "Always learning, but never able to come to the knowledge of truth." 2 Tim. 3:7.
A writer once stated: "Tolerance is the virtue of people who do not believe in anything."
When we become so accommodating of evil that we neither recognize, or oppose, it, our moral collapse is imminent.
