Q: What's up with the air? Everyone I see is sneezing and congested.
A: Kay Chassis, who does allergy testing for Dr. Peter Zonakis, an ear, nose, throat and allergy specialist in Payson, said most people are suffering from allergies to juniper and cedar trees, which are pollinating now through April. She said other trees are also pollinating -- scrub oak, mesquite, ash, cypress and olive. Grasses start pollinating in May, ragweed will make its presence known in July and if someone is allergic to pet dander and dust mites, they suffer year-round. Dave Fletcher with the Gila County Health Department added there might be molds giving people problems following the recent wet weather.
