A Cheap Local Bypass Is Possible

Sometime back, our local TV station was showing Cliff Potts talking to some of our council members about streets and bypasses. This motivated me to write a suggestion for a north/south lateral. I mentioned my idea to a council member a long time ago and have not seen any results. I think it is worth mentioning again. If Colcord from Main Street to Longhorn was made a through street with no stop signs, local traffic could use it to bypass out of town traffic on Beeline. A phase one to eliminate stop signs would have no cost involved, and a phase two with more right-of-way at intersections could accommodate turning lanes. Engineering staff, give that a thought of possible utilization. Engineering staff, please respond to this in the newspaper.
