Wednesday morning about 4,000 Payson electric customers found themselves without power.
"A garbage truck on West Aero had its fork up and slapped our primary lines and locked out our substation," said Jan Parsons, manager of the Payson office of Arizona Public Service.
She said most of the 4,000 customers were only briefly without power, but a wire check delayed
full restoration for a few folks on Main Street. APS checked lines to make sure no wires were damaged before fully restoring power, she explained.
"Most of our outages are the result of a tree falling into a line or a truck hitting a pole," Parsons said.
The outage started about 11:15 a.m., Wednesday. The majority of customers were back in service by noon and all power was restored by 12:15 p.m., Parsons said.
