Re: Choose the time you travel by Mike Voden, 3/12/04
First: Good idea, Mike, about when you should try to travel to cut down traffic.
Second: I agree, the town could probably patch a few potholes with what it cost to buy artificial turf. Granite works good as ground cover and there is enough coming from Star Valley now to tip the earth a little to the west.
Third: Regarding nonhumans -- I think that on the animal issue it is a matter of what different culture you are talking about. I have heard that in some countries in Asia you don't want to ask what kind of meat is in the stew.
As for the next line, quote: "Why has the human species become so arrogant as to believe the ludicrous idea that we are God's favorite species?"
I don't think we are arrogant to believe what God has said Himself in Genesis 1:27-28: "So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him, male and female he created them. God blessed them and said to them, Be fruitful and increase in number, fill the earth and subdue it. Rule over the fish of the sea and the birds of the air and over every living creature that moves on the ground." NIV.
That sounds pretty much like a favorite species to me. But favorite species must also treat the things God gave them with respect, and consider the consequences of not doing so.
