Classic Cars Crowding Into Christopher Creek



Get ready for this weekend in Christopher Creek the first Run to Christopher Creek Car Show is Saturday, May 15 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 16 from 9 a.m. to noon.

There are 53 cars signed up for the show. They range from a 1931 Chevy to a 1927 Ford.

Craft booths and other vendors will be set up along the highway throughout Christopher Creek to welcome both the cars, their drivers and visitors.

There will be a live broadcast by KMOG radio, with T-shirts and mugs given away.

As part of the festivities, there will be Firemen Boots throughout the community at the businesses for a fund-raising effort. Everyone is encouraged to drop a few dollars or a check inside for the Christopher/Kohl's Fire Department.

The community is very proud of the fire department and its volunteers.

At 6 p.m. there will be a buffet at the Landmark for the car show people and the general public. The cost is $6.50 per person. The buffet will feature a barbecued chicken dinner.

There is still room for participants in the Rusty Cooper Memorial Scholarship Golf Tournament, Saturday, May 15. On Saturday, May 22, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m., Missionary Lynn Bright from the Philippines, will speak at the Christopher Bible Fellowship Church in Christopher Creek for the regular Ladies' Salad Luncheon. The Christopher Creek Homeowners Association meeting is scheduled for Saturday, May 29 at the fire hall at 10 a.m.

The Firebelles are planning a bake sale at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 29, also at the fire hall. Those who can help are asked to give Penny Wells a call at 928-478-4404, or Jackie Ezzell at 928-478-5066.
