Long-time Payson Women's Golf Association member, Marge Landra is on a roll. In early season play, Landra was able to out play her frequent competitor, Laura Meyocks.
At the time, Landra requested the win be published in the Roundup because another victory over Meyocks might be a long time coming.
But Landra continued her hot streak in a PWGA low net tournament played May 11 at Payson Golf Course.
In flight A, Landra tied Jan Burns for first place with a 72. In addition to her first-place dead knot, Landra pocketed closest-to-the-pin prize money on No. 8 where her tee shot rolled to within 15 feet, 4 inches of the hole.
In flight B, Judy Neal's 70 was good enough for a victory over runner-up Alesha Calderwood (73). Neal also won the closest-to-the-pin contest on No. 14 where she was but 15 feet, 10 inches shy of the pin. Glenda Cook took Flight C honors with a 73. Brenda Baker finished second carding a 77. Wilma Smith posted a sizzling 66 to take flight D laurels. With a 76, Ethel Hull was second.
