Acknowledging the contribution of the SCORE program to economic vitality of the community, the month of May has been proclaimed Small Business Month by Payson Mayor Ken Murphy.
SCORE, The Counselor to America's Small Businesses, has been operating for 40 years and it's been a part of the Northern Arizona economic landscape since 1984.
It only recently opened a branch in Payson, but has already presented a number of programs to help the owners of small
businesses and those considering starting a company. The most recent event was a Beginning Business Workshop, May 18, presented in partnership with Judy Miller at Gila Community College.
The SCORE program has met with such success in the short period it has been operating in the Rim country, it is already expanding.
"We are adding new counselors at our Payson branch," said Dick Lillie, a member of the Payson branch of SCORE.
