Kay Davis has won her second successive Payson Women's Golf Association Memorial Tournament championship played May 26 at Payson Golf Course.
The annual shoot-out is played each year in memory of PWGA members who have died.
In the "partner best-ball format," Davis teamed with Sharon Vaplon to card a 59 and win top honors.
In second place, Ethel Hull and Glenda Cook posted a 61.
The battle for third-place honors turned heated when the team of Alesha Calderwood and Brenda Baker tied with Judy Neal and Wilma Smith. Both finished at 64.
In addition to Neal and Smith's third-place tie, the pair also pocketed closest-to-the-pin prize money. Neal was closest on No. 8 with a tee shot that was 36 feet, 9 inches short of the pin. On No. 14, Smith was 17 feet, 5 inches away.
Neal's exceptional showing marked the second tournament in which she has shined. In a low-net fray played a week earlier, she won the flight B title by carding a 70.
Second-place finisher Cook also is on a hot streak. In the earlier low-net skirmish, she took Flight C honors with a 70.
