For more than five years, Payson Concrete has given customers buying residential concrete a $5 per yard discount during the month of October in exchange for a can of food.

At the same time, the company has earmarked $2.50 for every yard of residential concrete, which is given to four area charities.

This year each charity received a check for more than $1,200, according to Tim Hughes of Payson Concrete.
