The postseason gridiron action kicks off Saturday with the opening of Central Arizona Youth Football Association playoffs. The season wraps up Nov. 20 with the championship finals.
In the CAYFA Major Division, the unbeaten and defending league champion Payson Raiders (9-0) open the postseason at 2:30 p.m. on the PHS field against the Chino Valley Trojans.
Also in the majors, the Payson Eagles (6-3) will take on the Wickenburg Wranglers at 1:30 p.m. in Camp Verde.
In Minor Division playoffs, the 8-1 Payson Broncos play host at 12:30 p.m. to the Chino Valley Minor Titans.
The Payson Wildcats (3-6) travel to Show Low for a 1 p.m. kick off against the White Mountain Lightning.
In the Mighty Might Division, the league-leading Payson Buccaneers (7-1) will take on the Chino Valley Titans at 11 a.m. on the PHS field. The Bears (5-3) travel to Show Low for an 11 a.m. game against the White Mountain Lightning.
In season finals Nov. 5, the Raiders remained unbeaten with a 26-6 win over the Camp Verde Bulldogs in Show Low.
The Eagles traveled to Mayer where they beat Bagdad 24-14.
Minor division play saw the Broncos edge the homestanding Chino Valley Titans 18-13.
In Mighty Might action in Mayer, the Buccaneers whipped the Big Bug Bulldogs 31-6. In Chino Valley, the Bears clawed the Mighty Might Titans 24-12.
