The Gila County Health Department will hold two pediatric flu vaccine clinics next week. All children between the ages of 6 months through 18 years old who reside in the county are eligible for the vaccine while the supply lasts.
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that the following children receive the vaccine:
- Children 6 to 23 months old
- Children 6 months to 18 years old taking aspirin on a long-term basis.
- Children between the ages of 2 and 18 years old with chronic health conditions or a weakened immune system.
- Children 2 and 18 years old living with a child younger than 6 months of age.
The pediatric flu clinics are scheduled from 8 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. and 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. on Monday, Nov. 22 and Tuesday, Nov. 23 at the Payson office at 107 West Frontier St., suite A.
According to the health department, they expect to receive additional adult vaccines in the near future.
