'Tip-A-Cop' Helps Families At Christmas

Though their job is normally to protect and serve, local law enforcement will seat and serve at Macky's Grill Saturday.

Between 11 a.m. and 3 p.m., a uniformed police officer or sheriff's deputy will seat you, serve your meal and refill your soda.

"You will see blue and brown uniforms -- armed waiters and waitresses," Payson Police Sgt. Donny Garvin said. "All the tips we earn from our service will go directly to the Christmas for Kids Program."

The Law Enforcement Christmas for Kids Program provides clothes and toys to local families in need during the holidays.

Garvin said the regular waitstaff will take the orders, but the officers will do the rest.

"Macky's jumped on board to allow us to do this benefit and the waiters and waitresses are donating their tips during that time," Garvin said.

Patrons who bring a new toy to donate get a free non-alcoholic beverage with their meal.

Macky's is located at 1111 S. Beeline Highway.
