A foursome of former Longhorn wrestling stars, now members of the Western State College of Colorado team, shined at the University of Wyoming Cowboy Open tournament last week in Laramie.

Zack Lee took second with a 4-1 record. A trio of other former Horns were fourth in their weight divisions. R.C. LaHaye, a WSCC team captain and All-American, compiled a 4-2 record. George Coleman was 4-2 and Larry Wilbanks posted a 5-2 record.

Larry Wilbanks, now at Western State College in Colorado, was a Arizona Coaches Association all-star for PHS last season.

LaHaye is a senior at WSCC, Coleman and Lee are sophomores and Wilbanks is a freshman who last year was an undefeated 4A state champion for Payson High School.

Longhorn coach Rich Ormand was pleased with the accomplishments of the four athletes.

"We are proud of our wrestlers who are succeeding at the next level," he said.

The Longhorn wrestling team will send another alumnus to collegiate wrestling next season when Nate Lee, Zack's younger brother, enrolls at Boise State University.

As a member of the Bronco team that competes in the PAC-10 conference, Nate Lee will be battling some of the finest mat talent in the country.

Boise also is a power in the PAC-10 having won three of the last five conference titles.
