The holiday is over and if you are like me, you will have to go on a diet after all that turkey and desserts. Now it's time for the next holiday.
Today is the biggest shopping day of the year, but you won't see me out shopping. I don't like to fight the crowds even if there are some great deals out there.
Tuesday when the bus stopped to let my daughter off at Tall Pines Market at 3:30 p.m., this large 6-by-6 elk crossed the road near the church and just started walking down the highway on the path toward the fire hall.
Bus driver, Mike Lidster, drove slowly and put his lights on for on coming traffic. This big guy was just strolling along without a care in the world.
All the traffic coming down the road got a kick out of it, but we are used to it here in Christopher Creek.
Here are some of the functions going on for the holidays. The Christopher/Kohl's Fire Bells Annual Christmas party and potluck will take place at 6:30 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 1 at Station 51 in Christopher Creek. Bring your favorite dish to share and a $10 gift per person for a night of fun, friends and good food. Call Viki at (928) 478-4654 or Penny at (928) 478-4404 and let them know what you will be bringing for the potluck.
The Fourth Annual Mystrom Anniversary Party is scheduled for 6 p.m., Saturday, Dec. 4 at the Landmark. The Top Cats -- one of Arizona's hottest blues bands -- takes the stage at 8 p.m.
The Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Church will have its annual Christmas party and potluck at 6 p.m., Friday, Dec. 10. Bring friends, neighbors, and relatives for a night of great fellowship, good food and a lot of fun.
The Christmas quad ride is scheduled for 5:30 p.m., Tuesday, Dec. 14. Riders will meet at Grey Hackle Lodge then drive around to check out all the Christmas lights in the area.
I will keep you posted on who has what kind of Christmas lights and were the best displays are.
