I am not asking anyone to change their vote. Some are adamant, they are set and no explanation or persuasion will change their vote, however to the few: the journey of America for the past has been tested, our strength and resolve to stop aggression not on our land, but at their doorstep, is far better than seeing bombs blowing up our home and cities.
President George W. Bush has vigorously pursued the War on Terror. America took a stand and vowed to end terrorism. He took the war to their doorsteps -- not ours. Millions of people who knew only dictatorship and torture are now living in freedom. The war in Iraq will turn and freedom will prevail. We cannot back down now that the momentum is scaling on our side.
Our President said: "Our nation -- this generation -- will lift a dark threat of violence from our people and our future. We will rally the world to this cause by our efforts, by our courage. We will not tire; we will not falter; and we shall not fail."
I will stand behind this president. Our veterans (most of them) are solidly with our president. President Bush retains overwhelming support among the military's professional core despite a troubled mission in Iraq. A Military Times survey indicates Bush leads Democratic Senator John Kerry by 73 percent.
The worst thing is an American who won't vote. Let's all hang in there and vote. Our whole nation honors the memory of all our veterans who gave us this freedom that we now enjoy.
