Sunday Oct. 10's Doonesbury comic strip quotes the first President Bush supposedly talking to his son, the present president. In the first Bush's book, A World Transformed, written in 1998, he explains why he didn't try to occupy Iraq in 1991: "An occupation of Iraq would have incurred incalculable human and political costs ... there was no viable exit we gone the invasion route, the United States could conceivably still be an occupying power in a bitterly hostile land." Well, the second President Bush didn't listen, or possibly understand, his father, andow the United States iserceived as an occupying power, not a liberating friend.

So, according to the President's father, Kerry is right: "wrong war" because we are now an occupying force; "wrong time" because Bush should have waited until the UN inspections were done; "wrong place" because we should have been in Afghanistan hunting terrorists.o the President's sarcasm is not warranted. believe we need a new commander-in-chief before the second President Bushtarts "liberating" wars with Iran and North Korea. Therefore, I urge you to join me in voting for Kerry-Edwards.
