Eva Afton Potts, 85, died Saturday, Oct. 16, 2004 in Lakeside, Ariz. She was born in Harrisburg, Utah.
She grew up and attended school in Southern Utah and Southern California. Following school she met and married Sam Edward Potts on May 10, 1936 in Redlands, Calif.
Following their marriage the couple relocated many times, living in Idaho and Oregon before moving to Phoenix in 1969, where Mrs. Potts worked as a dietitian for the community hospitals in Scottsdale. They also lived in Payson for a time.
In 1973 they moved to Woodruff, Ariz. where she worked as a cook and nurses' aide for the Holbrook Hospital.
She is survived by her daughters, Barbara Scoggin of Woodruff, Hazel (Sam) Harris of Woodruff, Edna Hawks of Boise, Idaho and Darlene (Bill) Fraley of Gilbert; sons, Cliff (Jean) Potts of Payson and Jim (Kayleen) Potts of Rexburg, Idaho; sisters, Wilma Harvey of Clark Fork, Idaho and Donna Faye Young of Wilcox; 30 grandchildren, 65 great-grandchildren and six great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Sam, in 1989; son, Bob Potts in 1986; two granddaughters, Sue Ellen Hawks and Trishtan Potts; and one great-granddaughter, Jenneca Harris.
Funeral services were Tuesday, Oct. 19 at the Woodruff Ward Chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints.
