Mccain, Flake In Payson Saturday For Forest Health, Water Town Hall

U.S. Sen. John McCain will be in Payson for a Natural Resources Town Hall meeting with Arizona House Speaker Jake Flake on Saturday, Oct. 23. The public is invited to attend.

The town hall discussion will address important issues facing Northern Arizona including water and forest health.

"I am honored to be joined at this town hall by Senator John McCain," said Flake. "In his years as a senator, he has consistently fought for rural Arizona."

The town hall will be held at 12:30 p.m. in the community room (301) at Gila Community College.

"Speaker Flake's goal is to have as many Gila County residents participate as possible," said Jake Logan, press secretary for Speaker Flake. "It's a great honor to have Senator McCain travel to Payson for this unique event."

Sunday, Oct. 24, the senator is scheduled to participate in a debate with Democratic challenger Stuart Starky at Northern Arizona University's Ardrey Auditorium, near Milton Road in Flagstaff. The event will be from 3 p.m. to 4 p.m.
