It is my distinct pleasure to endorse the 2004 candidacy of John R. Armer for re-election to the office of sheriff of Gila County. I have admired his reputation as a top-notch law enforcement officer for two decades. In that time, we have become well-acquainted. John is a solid professional and family man of great integrity and virtue.
John Armer honed his management and leadership skills while rising through the ranks at the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office for more than 21 years, retiring as a major in charge of court services. John consistently demonstrates a willing ability to work hand-in-glove with other agencies.
A community-minded public servant, Sheriff Armer is an active member of the Globe Rotary Club and The 100 Club, which raises funds and supports public safety officers and their families who are injured or killed in the line of duty. John sits as a member of the Rules Revision Committee for Arizona P.O.S.T. (Police Officers Standards and Training), the certification and regulation governing agency for police officers. He is active in domestic violence coalitions and is a member of a Triad, which is a coalition of agencies that fight crime perpetration aimed at the senior segment of our society. John is committed to the youth in the community, and works with the community to raise funds to send students to various programs and activities, which build and develop young people. He is also a member of the Presbyterian church.
Sheriff Armer is a dedicated law enforcement professional who has written legislation and testified before the Arizona State Legislature to pass crime fighting bills pertinent to citizens and law enforcement personnel. He has often been honored at both the state and local levels.
Thinking residents of Gila County should vote for John Armer, the proven choice for sheriff.
