The 3.25 inches of rain from the remnants of Hurricane Javier is going to be followed by the first frost of season, according to the National Weather Service.
Anna Mae Deming, weather observer said the NWS told her there will be a hard frost Tuesday, Sept. 21. If the clouds clear out sooner than expected, she said it will probably freeze in some areas around the Rim on Monday night.
She recommended people plan on bringing in their plants. If plants cannot be brought inside, covering them with sheets or blankets can minimize the damage a frost could cause.
