Recently three teenage boys on two quads and a two-wheeler were speeding north on Moonlight Drive past our property, when one of the quads went sailing thru the air, hit the top of our fence and landed in our pasture.
The fence is a 6-foot chain link held by 7-foot steel posts. The boy, who looked to be about 14, could easily have struck, or even been impaled on, the top of one of the posts.
The fact that they were speeding through the neighborhood is nothing new, nor is the noise they make, which in this case was deafening. It happens regularly.
Maybe next time the tragedy waiting to happen, will.
