Amon Builders, Inc.

Amon Builders, Inc. is a general building contractor firm whose commercial experience includes churches, Star Building Systems pre-engineered metal buildings, retail shops, schools, senior care centers, restaurants, medical facilities, apartment complexes and warehouses.

Anderson Dental Group

As Payson's first full-time dentist, Scott Anderson is a fixture in the Rim country. Dr. Anderson arrived in Payson in 1971 to fill a void that had long existed on the local medical scene. He brought with him a DDS degree from Case Western Reserve University, and two years' dental experience in the United States Navy.

Since establishing his practice, Dr. Anderson has served hundreds of local patients, and patients from as far away as California, Utah and Mexico.

Anderson's office features the only father-and-son dental team in Payson. Dr. Anderson's son, Eric, was an honor student and award-winning athlete at Payson High School. He earned a B.S. degree from Arizona State University and graduated from the University of Pacific Dental School. Both doctors now perform mini-implants for denture stabilization and treatment for sleep apnea and snoring.

Arizona Public Service Company is the largest and longest-serving electric utility company in Arizona, and serves Arizona's Rim country. Our motto is "The Power to Make It Happen."

For the convenience of our customers, we are available electronically 24 hours a day. By logging on to aps.com, customers can take care of various APS transactions.

For example, customers can pay bills, view their account, connect or disconnect service -- all from the convenience of their home or office. Customers can also sign up for the SurePay Program online and transfer their monthly balance from their bank account to APS.

In 2005, a historic event will occur in the Rim country when the state's first hydroelectric plant will be dismantled. Since the early 1900s, the APS Childs and Irving power plants, north of Payson, have been a source of clean and inexpensive power. In 2005, the water powering Childs and Irving will be returned to Fossil Creek as these two power plants are decommissioned.

First Assembly of God

This is a spirit-filled, family-focused church with a full range of family ministry and activities. In 2004, we added some new staff for our Children's Ministry.

We offer an after-school program for grade school children. The staff is licensed and DES approved. Payson's community has grown and diversified in need and style as new residents come from all over America. It brings new life and flavor to the church. We see an exciting, growing church on the horizon which reaches out to serve and minister to the Rim country. As Payson continues to grow, expand and prosper, we will be adding more services and variety to its residents.

Dr. William Blackmore has been in Payson since 1983. We will be remodeling and expanding our office to help make room for Dr. Alex Romberger, new to our community, who has joined our group.

Since we have been in business, we have seen big changes in Payson, including a lot of growth, more diversity in the population and in what the community offers. The One Dollar Superstore offers general merchandise including cleaning and party supplies, holiday items, crafts, sunglasses and reading glasses. We offer a variety of items for people from birth to 110 years old. Items which are requested by customers, we'll do our best to find.

We opened in August 2004, and over the next year we will be expanding our item selection, all the while being the only true $1 store in the area.

We are family owned and operated, and our special service to the Payson community is that we still are the only true $1 or under store in Payson.

Since we opened in August, we have seen a variety of needs from our customers that we are meeting. We are raffling off home electronics in our monthly raffles, free with a $20 purchase, or $1 per chance.

We will be customizing our product line for holidays and seasonal lines, our gorgeous line of gift bags is increasing, plus we will continue to meet the needs from the community.
