The Gila Community College Board of Governors will hold a special meeting at 9 a.m., Friday, April 8 in room 301 at Gila Community College, Payson campus to discuss the lawsuit settlement among GCC, Gila County and Eastern Arizona College.
"We really want to encourage the public to come out and hear about the local preference option", said Sarah Nelson, Gila Community College director of community programs. "I think it's important for the local taxpayers to hear their options."
During the meeting, board members will also consider the proposed contract to provide post-secondary educational service to GCC by Eastern Arizona College.
If approved, the contract would sever ties with current educational provider, Pima Community College.
"This is their one time to come and be part of the process and give their personal input," said Nelson. "Come and listen, or stand up and give the board testimony."
Please contact the college at (928) 468-8039 to obtain a copy of the meeting's agenda.
