Payson Loses An Old Friend

I thought it would be at least two to three years before I'd be writing a letter like this.

Many of you knew my dog Cee Cee. We made the rounds between the off-leash park and Green Valley Park. We participated in many 5K walk/runs for four years. Cee Cee was well known at Mazatzal Casino where I used to work until this past May. She was pals with the Rim Country Classic Auto Club, the Rim Country Animal Sanctuary, Star Valley Vet, Payson Area Habitat For Humanity, Rim Country Chamber of Commerce, the Payson Roundup and many, many stores in town that were dog friendly.

Cee Cee celebrated her 15th birthday July 20. Eight days later, she had great difficulty breathing. She had developed blood clots in the lungs. The vet in Taos, N.M. worked for almost four hours trying to save her. But old age caught up with Cee Cee and I had to make the humane, but difficult, decision to put her down.

I'm so fortunate to have had 15 years with my best friend. I used to joke and tell people that Cee Cee was more faithful than my ex-wife ... and had a nicer tail.

So, I want to thank so many of you while I was in Payson who patted her head, scratched behind her ears, gave her a hug or a treat. Because of my work in Payson at Mazatzal Casino, Cee Cee and I were fortunate to be part of many community activities ... in and away from work. Cee Cee enjoyed meeting you just as much as I did.

I'm now marketing director at the only smoke-free casino in the country ... located in Taos, NM. Please feel free to contact me at or (888) WIN-TAOS (946-8267) ext. 116.

P.S. There's no Testicle Festival here in Taos ... YET!
