Constance McElroy Wade, 84, of Payson, died Aug. 10, 2005. She was born March 31, 1921 in Montgomery, Ala.
Mrs. Wade grew up in Birmingham, Ala., and graduated from Phillips High School. She married in 1943 and had one daughter, Rebecca.
Mrs. Wade moved to Arizona in 1975 to become director of nursing service at Yavapai Community Hospital in Prescott, a position she held until 1979, when she moved to Payson to serve as the director of nurses at Lewis R. Pyle Memorial Hospital. She retired in 1984.
Mrs. Wade was a charter member of the Payson United Methodist Church, where she remained an active member until her death.
Mrs. Wade is survived by her daughter, Rebecca K. Dunaway, Ph.D., also of Payson.
Graveside services and burial will take place in Birmingham. No local services are planned.
