Margaret T. Murphy, 97, of Glendale, Ariz. died Sunday, Aug. 7, 2005.
She was one of five children born to Richard and Angela (Belluzzi) Taylor, who were ranchers on the East Verde River at the Doll Baby Ranch, where she grew up.
Mrs. Murphy attended Arizona State Teachers College in Flagstaff, where she met her husband of 63 years, Ira Murphy.
Together they began teaching careers in Payson, and then moved to Duncan, Florence, Roll, Tolleson and finally to Peoria. When they retired, they moved back to Payson. As an elementary teacher, Mrs. Murphy touched the lives of many children.
She was preceded in death by her husband Ira, and brothers, Richard, Fritz, Bill and Ed.
She is survived by her brother Cleo; sons, Richard (Betty), of Glendale and Patrick (Debbie) and his step-daughters Janelle, Crystal and Melody Beadle, all of Chandler; and daughter-in-law Ruth Murphy, of Surprise; five grandchildren, Charlene Atkinson (Chuck), Michael Murphy, Mark Murphy, Erin Murphy (Steve Nesky) and Brian Murphy (Lori); five great-grandchildren, Julie Paine (Scott), Joshua Wauchek (Monica), Jaime Wauchek, Delaney Murphy and Conner Murphy; and five great-great-grandchildren, Rebekah, Bayli, Parker, Eloniee and Anthony.
A celebration of her life was held at the Payson Pioneer Cemetery, Aug. 13.
