The University of Arizona Gila County Cooperative Extension Office is offering a special Master Gardener Training Course this fall at the Payson Public Library meeting room, 328 N. McLane Road.
Classes will be held 1:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., starting on Sept. 6. Classes will continue each Tuesday afternoon through Dec. 6. There will be a total of 13, three-hour classes.
The main instructors include Chris Jones, Terry Mikel, and Cayci Vuksanovich. The course offers laboratory exercises, field trips and visiting specialists.
The cost for the course is $125, payable to the University of Arizona at the Gila County Extension office.

A master gardener receives certification after successfully completing the course, and remaining active by conducting at least 50 hours of volunteer service in the following year.
