Edgar Eugene Lassins of Payson died Aug. 13, 2005. He was born Jan. 16, 1920, in Flushing, N.Y., son of George M. and Matilda McKerty Lassins.

He graduated from the Merchant Marine Academy in 1943 and was a cargo officer in the U.S. Navy (Pacific Theater) during World War II.

Following his discharge, he and his wife raised their family in Orchard Park, N.Y. He was a pharmaceutical representative in Western New York for 20 years. Prior to retiring, he and his wife owned a Snelling and Snelling Employment agency in Elizabeth, N.J.

Mr. Lassins is survived by children, Robert E. Lassins of Columbia, Md.; Christina L. (Peter) Rothenback of Payson, and Virginia E. (Alan) Fujihara of San Jose, Calif.; and grandchildren: Perrin, Cynthia, Bublitz, Jeffrey and Andrew; and great-granddaughters, Kirsten and Faith.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Jeanne Hill Lassins; parents; and brother, Eldred E. Lassins.

Internment is in George Washington Memorial Park Cemetery in Paramus, N.J. Donations can be made to the Northern Gila County Genealogical Society, 304 E. Bonita St., Payson.
