Thanksgiving is behind us, so preparations for Christmas are well under way.
The Pine/Strawberry School Christmas Tree Auction is tonight, Friday, Dec. 2, beginning at 6 p.m. The event this year is not on the same night as the light parade in Payson so more can attend.
This is a huge fund-raising event for the school.
Each class decorates a living tree and the students are very proud to show off their efforts. The trees are all wonderful.
The Isabelle Hunt Memorial Library is having a sale of Mexican silver jewelry and copper from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. tomorrow, Saturday, Dec. 3 at the library activity center, formerly the Kiwanis building, located to the rear of the Pine Community Center. All proceeds will benefit the library. Stop by and take a look. You might find a perfect gift or two.
Pine Library Friends will have a Christmas potluck luncheon at noon on Monday, Dec. 12 at the home of the president, Barbara Grillo. Those attending should bring a dish to share, a nonperishable donation for the Pine Food Bank and an unwrapped child's Christmas gift for the Time Out Shelter. Call the library for directions.
Library Friends have been making lovely holiday gift items and decorations that will be on sale through Christmas at the library. All proceeds will be used for library programs.
"Nothin' But Jack" will perform on his electronic keyboard indoors at the Rimside Grill and Cabins from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. on Saturday, Dec. 17. He will play a mix of great songs made popular by such artists as Frank Sinatra and Billy Joel, as well as tunes in the Bossa Nova tradition. This music is great for listening, but not too loud for visiting.
Also, remember that Rimside Grill will prepare a take-out Christmas dinner for your family. Call and make your reservations today.
