Julia Randall Elementary School isn't just repaving its front walkway, it is bricking it in with engraved pavers.
For a $50, tax deductible donation, one can have a brick with three lines of writing and up to 15 characters on each line.
"We are real excited about this fund-raiser because we know how important JRE is and has been to the community," said Principal Peggy Miles.
"This is a great Christmas gift for that hard-to-buy-for person. The school was built in 1932, so we figure most people in Payson have gone to Julia Randall or knows somebody that has gone here."
A person could buy a gift certificate to wrap in a box or give as a stocking stuffer.
The buyer of the certificate can indicate what they wish written on the brick or they can buy the gift certificate and leave the brick's lettering up to the recipient.
"We would like to get the first hundred bricks laid over Christmas break," Miles said. "We consider the front of the school prime real estate because that is where people enter and exit. We have this awesome three-by-three-foot JRE bulldog that's going to be placed to the right of the front door. Pavers will be going around that and moving down the walkway. So for people who want their bricks to be seen, this is where they are going to be seen the most. For those who want to promote their business, this will be an excellent place."
Order forms can be picked up at the JRE office, 900 W. Main St., or by contacting Peggy Miles at (928) 474-2353, or Susi Carr at (928) 595-2231.
