The combined Boy Scouts/Girl Scouts float -- The Scout Express -- took top honors at the fifth annual Main Street/APS Electric Light Parade Saturday.
"They had more kids than I've ever seen on one vehicle and the lighting was incredible," Main Street Manager Carol McCauley said.
Second place went to Desert Schools Federal Credit Union and third place went to Mazatzal Casino's Polar Bear Express.
"The Polar Bear Express had inflatable polar bear balloons," McCauley said.
While it was near freezing, the sky was clear and the crowd enthusiastic, according to Judy Pittman, parade organizer.
"It was a great turnout," Pittman said. "We had people lining both sides of the street and they seemed to be very much in the holiday spirit."
At the conclusion of the parade, Julia Randall students caroled, the official town tree was lighted, and the evening ended with a fireworks display at Green Valley Park.
