Stacy Lopatesky was 21 when she moved to Pine from Mesa. She admitted she hated it at first. Now she loves it here and can't imagine living any place else.
She moved to be close to her parents, but at that time she felt there wasn't enough to do around Rim Country. Soon, though, she said she fell in love with the area. "I love everything about Payson. The way Payson welcomes you when you drive into town, it's beautiful here. You can take a deep breath and people are great," she said.
Lopatesky is manager of the Payson Candle Factory. Customers have probably seen her in the store, as she works full time and is always available to help customers find the perfect gift.
"I really think this is a wonderful shop," she said. "I love working here and I love helping people pick out gifts. We're a friendly place."
Lopatesky met her husband Brandon here. They married and have two children, Athena, 15 and Blake, 11. She said both are honor students at their schools. The family lives in Deer Creek Village with their entourage of animals -- three horses, two dogs and three cats.
She said her family gets up every day and takes care of their home and animals and they all love what the Rim Country has to offer them.
"I love the small town, homey feeling here," she said. "People care. I see the good in everyone. In Payson, Life slows down and allows you to see the good in everybody."
