At approximately 6:30 p.m. Thursday, a structure fire was reported at one of the mobile homes at the Lamplighter RV Resort in Diamond Star.

Firefighters from the Diamond Star Fire Department responded and found it was actually only the porch that was involved, according to Captain Rick Heron.

"We were able to (knock it down) and have the fire out in less than five minutes," said Heron. "Smoke damage had extended into the building, but there was no real structural damage except around the wall next to the porch."

The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

"What it's looking like right now is that ... they put a couch (on the porch) that was too close to the exhaust for the heater for the inside of the house," Heron said.
