Allie M. Austin, 95, died Dec. 10, 2005 at the RTA Hospice House. She was born Feb. 2, 1910 in Vancouver, Wash.
Mrs. Austin and her husband moved to Payson from Geyserville, Calif. following her retirement from the U.S. Postal Service in 1975. She had worked as a clerk in the post office for 27 years.
She was a member of the Tonto Rim Sports Club, serving as secretary/statistical officer for several years, a lifetime member of the Mogollon Health Alliance Auxiliary, formerly known as the Lewis R. Pyle Hospital Auxiliary, serving as secretary and president. She was also a member of the Mogollon Chapter 1235 NARFE, serving as secretary, president and state secretary.
Mrs. Austin was a member of the Central Christian Church of Payson.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Archie (Skip) and Elizabeth Austin; seven grandchildren, 10 great-grandchildren and nine great-great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 50 years, Archie; and her daughter and son-in-law, James and Betty Edwards.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Dec. 16 at Messinger Payson Funeral Home, 302 W. Aero Drive. A reception will follow at Payson Christian Church, 501 E. Rancho Road.
