Creek Rocking With Christmas Cheer

Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Church had its Christmas party Friday night. Approximately 75 people attended. The children of the church entertained everyone with Christmas carols.

The highlight of the evening was a game they play every year -- everyone brings a gift that they have wrapped several times in both paper and tape, the gifts are spread out on the tables. As music plays, everyone pushes the boxes around and when the music stops they try to open them. Those who succeed in opening a box get to keep the gift. The process continues until all the packages have been opened, but every year they get harder to open and some are almost impossible to undo. Jerry Fisher brought one that couldn't be opened. It went around and around and was the last gift standing. Fisher works at Lumbermens, and he wrapped the gift with so much tape and insulation, it took a hacksaw to cut it open -- which Jerry had brought along. Leo and Duey Malmin tried all night to open it but couldn't. After they sawed it open, they found two knives, which they kept, and everyone had a good laugh.

The gift exchange at the Christopher Creek Bible Fellowship Church required some muscle. Gifts were wrapped with both paper and tape, requiring extra effort to open in the fashion of musical chairs. The gifts were moved around the table as music played and when the music stopped participants could try to open a gift. The last gift unopened had to be attacked with a hacksaw to get it unwrapped.
